Vrindavan ->Agra -> Mathura

Via Malwa Express…:)
So it all started with a train I had almost missed. I hardly boarded Malwa Express from Jalandhar railway station that day, and somehow managed to get into the train with a slight difference of 2 seconds. And then the fun started. I am personally a big fan of train journeys and when some good friends are with you in them, such moments become priceless!

Day 1 – Vrindavan holi and temples..:)
Coupled with the famous Vrindavan Holi celebration, a visit to these scenic and historic Vrindavan temples was heart felt. Here is the list – Baanke Bihari Mandir, Shri Radha Vallabh, Bankhandeshwar Maha Mandir, Rang Ji Mandir, Radharaman Mandir, Nidhivan Mandir, Pagal Baba Mandir, Escon Temple and Prem Mandir.

Prem Mandir was the most picturesque among all these temples. You can see the amazing lighting work during the eveningsit’s a feast to the eyes.

Nidhivan Mandir has some myths associated with it. It is said that these trees with joint branches get converted into ‘Gopis’ during the nights and lord Krishna himself comes every night to sleep on the specially created bed, have the eatables and he also dances on a specially created nearby dance floor with the ‘Gopis’. There are people who believe in such stories while there are others who laugh away these. It’s a matter of perception. Okay?

The famous Escon temple has a rather interesting past. People from all over the world come here and the devotion they show while praying is impeccable.

Day 2 -Agra..Taj Mahal..Fatehpur Sikri

These are some pictures of Buland Darwaza, or the “Gate of Magnificence”, was built in 1576 A.D. by Akbar to commemorate his victory over Gujarat. It is the main entrance to the palace at Fatehpur Sikri, a town which is 43 km from Agra, India.

Inside this structure, there is a Salim Chishti tomb(as you can see in the picture in white color), there are Mughal Gardens as well, famous for Akbar-Jodha love stories.

The 7th wonder – Taj Mahal is a real beauty to behold. This marvelous work of art built by Shah Jahan for his dead wife consumed 22 years and was built by 22000 odd workers. This eccentric king then arrested these workers to live-unto-death in the rooms found in the precincts of this structure.

These Mughal emperors were so spendthrift, and extravagant, I mean building hell lot of vast and expensive structures to commemorate victories or deaths was insane. The same money could have been utilized for the betterment of subjects. No?

Yummy food after an eventful day!

Day 3- Govardhan Parikrama..:)
This 21 KM bare feet walk was an experience of its own kind. The fun, the memories, the laughter, and the bond we were able to create with one another were the best parts of this mid night journey.

Anuj ka ghar and his amazing family..:)

That’s all of us with ‘pyaari si aunty‘. I can’t thank her enough for bearing us all this while…!

It has been said – Add life to your days, not days to life! And the life that you people added to these 3 most awesome days of my life made them even more memorable. You guys gave me an eternity to cherish for life in just 3 days.

Now let me end this blog with a few good words for all the 9 creatures I got to know and share my time and space with.
Anuj – Host, administrator, and financier of this trip. Fun loving, person with a golden heart. You are a lovely person Anuj and I feel blessed to have got a friend like you.
Deepak – We met in Prayaas, became good friends and then you asked me out for this trip that day out of a serendipity. I want to THANK you for doing that. I am really sorry for not accompanying you to your ‘Gaon’. Sorry! Stay as jolly and cheerful as you were during the ‘Govardhan Parikrama‘. You made us laugh so much!
Ankita – Stay always like this darling – A very sweet, charming and cheerful girl that you are. Stay blessed always.

JD – You are an amazing photographer, a kind hearted person, fun loving and a wise man with a good sense of humor.
Ruchika Di – I usually don’t get comfortable with some complete strangers I haven’t got in touch with lately. But with you, I felt really GOOD. You take good care of people you love(that’s what I observed personally). Always stay like this – A mature and soft spoken girl with a kind demeanor that you are.
Kittu – Fun loving, naughty, and a sweetheart. Everyone loves you for being the smallest member of the gang. Stay blessed.
Aman – Soft spoken, sweet, respectful, fun loving, helpful, and very knowledgeable. The best thing about you is that you don’t take personally the digs people take at you. Stay as happy as you are always seen with that ever smiling face.
